Call to host the 2021 Sustainability Research and Innovation Congress extended

March 10, 2020
Help us shape the global sustainability transformation and showcase your leadership in sustainability research and innovation to the world stage as our 2021 host.

The call for expressions of interest to host SRI2021 has been extended to April 8, 2020. Hosting SRI2021 is a unique opportunity for networks, universities, research institutions, government agencies, corporations, granting agencies, professional societies, non-profit organizations and other change-makers in sustainability aspiring to strengthen their global profile and thought leadership.

Next year’s event will build on the outcomes and lessons learned from SRI2020 and will continue to push forward an ambitious agenda for elevating the sustainability sector globally. “Hosting the next SRI event is an opportunity for applicants to showcase the leadership of their nation, region, city, company, or organization in sustainability research and innovation to the world stage. It will open up conversations with international funders and give hosts a seat in discussions that will shape global research and innovation agendas,” says Josh Tewksbury, Future Earth Global Hub Director.

Be part of continuing the dynamic and action-driven conversations started at SRI2020 and help us drive deeper into exploring next generation conferencing, emphasizing virtual event participation to reduce emissions from travel.

We encourage bids from across sectors and nations, particularly those from the Global South.

An MOU will be signed between the Belmont Forum, Future Earth and the winner(s), with the winner(s) announced at the SRI2020 closing ceremony.

A special thank you to those who have already expressed interest. We are looking forward to reviewing your applications.

Applications are due by April 8, 2020.
